When Z was living in Boston, he called me Friday morning and told me to pack a bag and drive in for a night on the town. When I arrived, he met me dressed in one of the best suits I had ever seen ( I am a sucker for a man in a suit).  He drove me to the North End, where he had made reservations at THE perfect small, romantic quintessential Italian restaurant, arranged after dinner drinks in the theater district - where the bar tender stated, "Ah, we have been waiting for you two," with long walks around town in between, ending with long kisses all the way home in the wee hours of the morning.  He planned every detail of the evening. Hot damn.

and get proposed to on the Eiffel Tower (in Paris, France, not in Paris, the hotel in Vegas).

7. Person I would most like to have dinner with:  My dad.

8. Favorite Beatle:  Paul.

9. Guilty pleasure:  Anything with Hello Kitty on it.

      Hello new friend, Darcey,

I was reminded how yummy boxer briefs are after Ian was walking around the house in them (Post: Destiny is not always destined) this past weekend.

The book on my night stand is, "Maximum Achievement: Strategies and Skills That Will Unlock Your Hidden Powers to Succeed" by Brian Tracy.

      Welcome!

      Ahh...my brief -- UBER brief -- engagement.

In brief, a long-term boyfriend proposed -- quite awkwardly and without actually using the words, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" --
by pushing a ring box towards me and blubbering, "So, what do you think?"

The only reason he "asked" was to keep us from breaking up -- not because he wanted to get married.

So, I wore the ring home (it was like it was burning), I gave it back because it was not the right time, thing or decision for either one of us.

And...quite honestly, in hindsight, there is no way in hell I would say yes to someone who couldn't even SPEAK/ASK the words, "Will you marry me?"

      As if.

      J.

Long time lurker on your blog Josie. Love it! Was thinking about asking the same question as Sense 99. How in the world did you ever get that close to marriage with a jerk like that? Keep up the good work!
